It's been far too long since I've last written. I have lost track and sight of any "extra curricular" during finals season and the holidays. Prepping to move into a new home and starting a new job are just sprinkles on top of everything in life. I was told by my field supervisor that I'm insane for buying a new home and moving during grad school. Whatevs, I never claimed to be sane.

In the midst of the crazy, I continuously find that I've forgotten I'm a graduate assistant as well. I was awarded an assistantship through the Student Engagement in Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (SERSCA) program at school. I'm assisting one of my professors in conducting research and developing curriculum for teachers at a school in Ghana. It was much easier to lump this task into the "homework" umbrella, but being on winter break - I've found that I forget I'm supposed to meet certain milestones. Oops! Luckily, I've met and exceeded all milestones thus far, but I have milestones to meet by Thursday, so you know what I'll be doing the next few days.

I've got a solid foundation for the curriculum and have completed all of the research necessary and I'm grateful and excited for this opportunity and experience.

Have you ever watched those "I can paint a masterpiece in 5-minutes"or "watch me paint something amazing while this one song plays" kind of artists? The kind that start with a crazy mess on a canvas and nobody can tell what's going on, then when the timer goes off or the song ends and the artist rotates the chaotic paint and canvas to reveal the promised beautiful masterpiece...?

You may be asking yourself what does my forgetfulness, crazy life, and this artist have in common... well, that's the point. Life over the past few months have been so crazy that I've felt that I'm this canvas with a ridiculous mess around me, then God says, "I've got you..." rotates me and I can see the gorgeous painting. Through patience I've been shown this beautifully hectic masterpiece that each crazy and forgetful moment is painting.
