Picking up Steam

Y'all, I've got to admit my excitement. I'm sitting on a break at my internship and had to fill you in on my day. I feel incredibly fulfilled in this environment. Not just because I'm appreciated and part of the team here, but because I am doing something that significantly matters. Don't get me wrong, making sure people are in meetings is... important... but this is life-change. I got to sit in on an interview with a volunteer. This volunteer will go hang-out with isolated elderly people in our community. I get to go check on a client who shows reason for concern - just to make sure they're doing alright. I also get to do a home screening for someone who will be receiving services. Thursday, I get to do a home screening for enrollment, and I will be getting my own caseload potentially next week.

You ever have those moments where you've been so frustrated and everything seems to be overwhelming, but then you pray and seek God's peace and BAM... things begin to fall into place. I'm not saying God is a magical genie, I'm saying that I truly believe he coordinates these moments for us to grow and to realize the greater purposes of life. I am excited to jump in and directly assist and counsel the elderly in our community. Today: I am at peace.
