What is this... Brightness?

Daylight savings time is a weird beast... I finished getting ready for work at 6:12 this morning, which is when I should be walking out the door to get to work at 6:30. (I know, I'm spoiled by a roughly-20-minutes-on-a-good-day commute.) Instead of leaving on time, I found myself leaving at 6:18. For those who don't know Highway 99 - that six minutes is a make or break deal. I ended up getting to the office at 6:45, but that's besides the point.
Daylight.
What in the world is this? I have been leaving for work while it's been dark, staying in the office all day, then going to another building (school) and leaving at night. I see darkness. I start my day with it, and end my day with it. Today, I got to leave in the morning sun for the first time on a work day since September. Suddenly, being late was less of an issue. Suddenly, I didn't feel "rushed" to get to the office so early. I wanted to enjoy the morning drive.
I had seemingly forgotten how beautiful morning sunlight was. It made me think of the simple things that I take for granted... and how I don't realize how much I miss them until I realize they're no longer there. Take a moment today to soak up the sun, after all, it did wonders for Sheryl Crow.
